My point, every Sheriff of recent has wasted funds and not taken care of the employees, the agency's number one asset. For best recruitment and proper retention of employees, two things at a minimum are needed, best pay and benefits and a good working atmosphere. Anything else is more icing on the cake. This pertains to all employees, law enforcement, fire, dispatch, corrections and civilian personnel. As inflation increases and a recession is on the horizon it is time to get rid of wasteful projects and take care of the employees. The work in itself is enough stress to deal with in all aspects of the agency. First step, remove criminal Tony.

Tony got nothing for Communications, the Commission did. By the way, all the others got it too because Tony said it wouldn't be fair to cut out the deputies and detention out. The only reason the small raise (and it IS small with no retroactivity) happened is that it made the papers, and in an election year, that's not good for him. Also, what happened to the FDLE's recommendation that his accreditation be yanked for six months?

I think the communications people deserve what the deputies get upon retirement, 100% of their salary based on the last two years they worked. Communications, upon retirement, would get MAYBE 30%, can't live on that, but you CAN live on a deputy's retirement. I'm sure they'd trade the small raise for the retirement money the deputies get. Amazing that no one can get along and lift each other.

I saw on his IG that many deputies, communications, and detention employees will be retiring, almost simultaneously; have been there for 25-30 years. Is BSO ready for that? Are the remaining employees ready for it?
