More people died from the Spanish Flu of 1918 than all modern wars combined, to include the Civil War, WWI, WWII, the Korean War, Vietnam and the newer Middle Eastern wars! Cornavirus cannot be compared to the Spanish Flu! Cornavirus is not a threat for the vast majority of people, in addition to the fact that vaccines are being developed. The MSM/DNC fake news monster is trying to make people afraid.

What safeguards are in place for the patrol officers? They interact with the public and sometimes need to go to hospitals/nursing homes. I get if your healthy you are statically better off but you could be carrying the virus without symptoms and spreading the virus to the ones around you.

About 50 to 70% of the public will eventually contract Coronavirus -- and patrol officers are not excluded from that figure. Coronavirus is like any other flu -- you catch it and then you feel like crap for a few days and then you recover. Only the infirm elderly or those with compromised immune systems (like those on chemotherapy or those with severe HIV) will succumb to death. It's a pandemic in the sense that it's highly contagious, but it's not a pandemic that results in significantly more mortality. Mortality is only marginally higher than other flu strains.

So if my spouse (a LEO) starts feeling sick and needs to self quarantine to avoid jeopardizing the health of our new born (not elderly) are they able to do this at the station? Or do they live in a hotel? Is this covered under workers comp? Or expected to pay out of pocket?

If 50 to 70% of the population is going to eventually contract Cornovirus, then newborns and spouses will contract it too. However, they will also recover from it, with a subsequent immunity against it. That's how all flu viruses work. When a flu becomes endemic, such as Cornovirus, then no one needs to be quarantined, except for those with compromised immune systems, such as:
1. the infirm elderly
2. those on chemotherapy
3. those with advanced HIV
4. etc.
If a healthy newborn or a spouse catches and recovers from Cornovirus, then what's the big deal?

That's a good question. Why has Italy lockdown their entire country. Why are cruise ships floating out in sea waiting on where they can/cannot port. Then people in hazmat suits outside the ship when a few people are getting released at a time. Why is the U.S. government finally working together over this matter and nothing else.
I get that media makes people over react but when the government's across the world are using extreme procedures it sure seems like a big deal and not just the "flu". I'll stick with the scientist and doctors who are studying this issue vs media or threads.
