Re: Florida PBA and Fraternal Order of Police endorse Alex Sink
I'll make it simple for you without attacking all the guys I know on your dept. with ad hominem attacks. You know... without childish donut jokes and such.
We do research and findings of fact based on what's best for labor, not on how our gut feels or whether we're being supported by a D or an R. We actually pay someone (just like the PBA does) to walk the halls in Tallahassee, on our behalf. Personally, I never said anything about Rick Scott's being fined or charged. As to the liberal thing, think about that one for a minute. You're in a labor organization. Union's operate in something of a socialist vacuum and are heavily supported by liberals and Democrats. As a labor organization we work for those who support labor. Most of us vote what's best for the country when it comes to national politics. Locally, we have to take care of the business of labor. We have to secure our retirement every day.
Politicians typically vote with their party if they want a parking space near the building and Republicans (of which I'm one) don't typically support labor. My union is probably about a 50-50 split, D vs. R. We don't always work together to support a particular candidate and that's because many -- like yourself -- often times listen but don't hear when a candidate tells you that he's not going to support your cause. Rick Scott has told you that he's not going to support labor and the mere taste of blood in the water gives drive to the League of Cities and their efforts to start tearing away at Local Law plans like yours and mine. Why do you think the city wanted your union to leave your pension article open during your three year contract? It wasn't to give you more benefits. Conversely, Alex Sink has told you that she backs you.
Stop playing with your benefits like it's a game of checkers and think a few moves ahead like you were playing chess.
The picture... don't let it scare you. It's the Cross of Lorraine. You're probably a pretty smart guy. Look it up.

FD bro, why do you continuallu come to this site with your fd problems? We don't care. And we sure as hell don't have anything in common with the fd. We got a contract. We support who is best for us, not the fd. And we sure as hell don't listen to the pba's endorsement as we know that their endorsement is for their own gain, not the gain of the member ship.
No go back to playing nintendo. Or better yet, develop a site for hose draggers.

The video is a worthless, edited piece of political garbage.
I could do the same to a video of you testifying and have you confess to child molestation.
Altered videos are worth nothing.

Re: Florida PBA and Fraternal Order of Police endorse Alex Sink
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Alex Sink didn’t rule out proposing a state income tax as a way to pay for the $12.5 billion in new spending she includes in her economic plan.
During Monday night’s statewide CBS debate, Rick Scott questioned Alex Sink on how she will pay for the $12.5 billion dollars in spending she proposes in her economic plan. Scott asked “What tax does she have to raise? She’s already backed taxes in payroll and sales and cable and water. Is she going to have to propose an income tax?”
Unable to provide a clear answer, Alex Sink first claimed that she would not support any tax increases then immediately said she would consider an internet sales tax down the road. “But, down the road, as I work with the legislature on many of these issues of fairness, we do have to address the fairness issue because our local retailers are very disadvantaged on the sales tax issues…”
Rick Scott spokesman Trey Stapleton said “This is another prime example of Alex Sinks failure to provide Floridians with a clear plan that will turn the state around. If you believe Sink’s Obama math, you can increase spending without providing a way to pay for it. You don’t have to be a 4.0 math major to know that the only way you can pay for these proposals without cutting spending is through increased taxation or federal stimulus money. Both fit into Sink’s liberal ideology.”

.

PBA leadership is a tool of the Democratic Party. The rank and file knows who will get the economy going to help preserve their jobs and pensions.
Alex Sink can't do the job. Period.

Re: Florida PBA and Fraternal Order of Police endorse Alex Sink
It is an undeniable fact that unions are all tools of the Democrats. The Democrats, you know, the ones who hold candlelight vigils for convicted cop killers. The ones who child molesters to be let out of prison so they can get therapy when they return to your neighborhood. The party that hates killing murderers but loves killing babies. The Democrat party that hates the military but loves convicted felons. The Democrat party that wants to give more welfare out at the expense of working taxpayers. The party that loves affirmative action.
There is a bigger picture than which candidate promises to put a couple more bucks in your pockets. That's the definition of being a sell-out.

Unions, newspapers, and other think tanks endorse Alex Sink
OK, "Ann Rand". I guess when you are being accused of something, then you won't have any use for the PBA or FOP. They're just "tools of the Democrats".
And you won't have any use for unions when they come to bay for fair wages, senior citizen benefits, etc. You are extremely naive!
Wake up and keep your elementary school rhetoric for your hallway rants on the 2nd floor of the PD where no one really listens to you anyway.

Sink is worthy of police & fire support
Thanks, FD brother for your intelligent discourse on the issues. Unfortunately, we have too many uneducated and ignorant PD folks who think unions are for steak dinners. As long as their dues buy 'em a steak or chicken dinner, that's about the extent of what they know about political and historical matters.
If a candidate is a Democrat, these guys think he or she supports giveaways. Most do not have college backgrounds nor have they traveled much outside the county. Narrow-mindedness is too often the result of not getting out much and seeing the diversity of the world.
My apologies. Not all cops are resigned to one-line, bumper sticker theories.
