    shift rotation/time?

I'm wondering if anyone can let me know how the CPD runs its patrol shifts. I have an interest in LE but have just begun looking into the basics. I've read where some departments change their shifts every month etc. which wouldn't be very appealing IMO. Also are you guys on a standard 8 or 10/12 hour schedule? Any info would be helpful.

Doesn't anyone on here actually work for the CPD?

Shifts do not change monthly and most are 10 hours.

I see so four ten hour days is the norm? Also when you do change shifts, is it a bidding process based on senority or basically an automatic rotation no matter what?
