Law Enforcement / Detention Crossover
I believe the first crossover class would have just come off of probation. Is there anyone who knows if any of them have put in a request to go to the road? I understand that once they get approved to go to the road they still have to wait until the man power in the jail allows for it. Have they been approved to go once staffing permits?
Also, if they have had issues with there current assignment or attendance issues I understand why they will not be leaving the jail in the near future.
Thanks for any information.

Cross Overs
I dont think there are any cross overs on their way to Patrol yet. Not like Patrol does not have the room. THe hiring they are doing in the front office sure is crazy. They have let go too many people. The standards have been lowered to much and the people getting into FTO are struggling. Thank goodness you FTO's are weeding them out. :!:

The first few of them have put in for transfer, but none have gotten to the "ready to go" list. Heck, people who have been on that list for 8 months are still waiting anyway.
A few of them have applied with other agencies and others are strongly considering it from what I have learned while talking to them.

That is good information. It sounds like it is just a promise then. I guess since I do not have "life experience" meaning I screwed up my life prior to becoming 40 and then decided to start a new exciting career I am not good enough for the road right away.
Thanks for the explanation.

Not necessarily, take a minute and call HR and find out first hand.
Things may be better than you think.

If you want to call HR, the number is 1-800-854-2862. I am sure they will be happy to tell you that after a year in the jail, you can feel free to request transfer to whatever you like. They will not make commitments.

If it takes about year to get out once the transfer rquest is approved then that is not to bad. Once you get the approval at least you have the light at the end of the tunnel no matter how long that tunnel is.
Thanks.

Cross over from Detention to LE
Does anyone know any information about a cross over from Detention to Le. I called WTI and they do not offer a cross over any more. Only the full boat and paying $2,000 plus, every weekend to take the full range course. OUCH! Any information that anyone can give would be great. Thanks!

PHCC Academy
PHCC is primarily offering the regular LE Academy and also the Crossover from LE to Crossover. From what we were told when we did the Crossover they only schedule the Crossover when PSO has a need for it.
