Just another Smoke and Mirrors by the FHP brass. You don't take back control of our, our of control highways by putting on a dog and pony show every few months. You do it by having a concentrated selective traffic enforcement effort every day and that is not possible due to the shortages that plague the FHP. Increase their salaries and fill their estimated 200 budgeted vacancies and you will see crashes and fatalities decrease. Its time for our Governor and Legislature to wake up and fully fund the Patrol. Right now this agency is a shell of its former self. Its pathethic that there are more troopers working a college football game than there are patrolling the highways in Miami-Dade or Broward counties


Note: We love FHP they are our last line of defense against DUI’s, Aggressive Drivers and all other unlawful highway Recklessness. To the Troopers please don’t give up on the people in the community. The city and county LEO’s don’t have the time due to other criminal violent issues.

Just another violent night on our unpatrolled Turnpike, interstates, and state roads. Due to the negligence of our Governor and State Legislators, the number of unfilled, but budgeted, Florida Highway Patrol vacancies keeps growing: it now numbers 200. Just remember as you or your family drives on these roadways that you are on your own. Don't expect any help!
