No one of any credibility wants to work for Jane. It will be Butch unless he does something dumb which is pretty likely. Jane controlled who the new assistant PiO is through LMac. She will name the next legal adviser which we haven’t had for two years.
City hall is running the show and no one will stand up to them.

Hopefully she goes to the outside. This place needs a shake-up. Just look at the last round of promotions. A Chief from the outside may get rid of the deadbeats on staff.
I like Butch but does anyone think he will change anything or get rid of anyone on staff?

I agree with you, however over the last few years police chiefs nation wide have become an extension of the political ideology of the mayors that they serve under. Nationwide sheriffs are elected and seem to hold a more law and order philosophy.
As we know the mayor is a retired chief and a democrat and her second in command is a retired deputy chief. The deck is stacked in her favor. I recall past TPD chiefs having the final say in the management of their departments as it use to be the mayor picked the leaders of the respective departments (police and fire) for their abilities to lead, to relate to what their officers had to deal with in the communities etc.
The mayor's easiest pick will be Butch, hopefully your union has a good working relationship with Butch.

The city council, within fifteen days after such submission, shall confirm or disapprove such appointments; and the failure of the city council to act upon any such appointment within said time shall be confirmation thereof. In the event of disapproval by the city council of any said appointments, the mayor, within ninety days thereafter, shall submit, or resubmit to the city council the name of the appointee. Hey tough guy, why are you calling him a “Dumbass” for copying a section of the City Charter? Do you know how long Ward was on the books for? Just as in Dugan was on the books until 10/1. 90 days is coming up is all he was saying. Ease up
