Who are you [we] trying to fool? Our department isn’t exactly the standard. We don’t have the volume of work or wide range of calls to really become experts. We have awful first line supervisors who really just pinned on their rank due to the growth of the agency. Our command staff is the tale of two sides; one-half good and one-half terrible.

Please, stop trying to imply that just because someone has twenty years on, that it makes them specialists. Training is good for ALL officers and this profession is currently in the crosshairs due to four reasons: a) politics; b) misconduct and corruption; c) the need for reform and its refusal to change; d) poor leadership.

Training could help in three of these areas, and not just for new officers. Even you grand old marvels could stand to benefit from training. Of course, new officers were affected by COViD19, and the shut down of our country, which resulted in them not gaining the benefit of on-the-job experience, so that will need to be monitored.
I see you drank the fake news cool aid. Only reason police are in the crosshairs of the blue states is because like in Hitler Germany, they dismantled local police to create a national police force which only the socialists control. We all know how well that ended.. just look at history....governments have killed more humans ever since it's creation.
Worst yet, citizens are killing more citizens look at shitcago, screwyork, califunkia shit hole states run by democrats.

Those who have to toot their own horn don't know know how small they are.. BUT life will teach you the power of a man is not in his physical strength, nor from the praise he receives from his favorite colleagues, but its in his humility...The silent man is more powerful
Than the boisterous brute.. when you enter this agency, in humility and honor those who have paved the road you are now walking on, then you can silently enjoy your success and let others praise you.

I won't belittle you, because I understand all children are born ignorant and have to be taught to be humble.

Here's a suggestion. Every time you are about to critique someone, first examine yourself and see if you if you don't have the same faults.

No one in this agency is lazy. It's priorities that differ. When you get that, you'll lighten up. This job will be here whether you stay or leave. You are disposable and no one is above anyone. Only your mindset is differing. So just come to work on time, enjoy the gig, trust me it will change every year as you move to different locations within the district.
If it's a slow day, hurray, if it's a busy day hurray .
Who cares! It's just a job...
You are quite the wordsmith, trying to sound smart and philosophical.
Go look up filibuster and stop trying to use fancy words.
If you claim those who are here have “paved the road” for us, it sure feels and looks like a dirt road.
To say no one in this agency is lazy is incompetence, stupidity, foolishness and untrue - personified.
    You’re a damn 🤡

And thats how the ignorant respond. Make personal attacks and name calling when your position can't withstand debate.

The position has been laid out and is supported by facts. There’s no name calling so don’t try to spin the issue because of a reference to a clown.
Your post, on the other hand, is unclear and just a wordy mess.
You’re the senior officer. The expert. The know-it-all. Remember in the academy when they taught report writing and brevity was important? What’s your point?

My point: you the little newbie had to go through the academy to be taught by vets, you had to go through FTO to be taught by vets and your question is?

I'm really trying not to offend you kid, remember like I said, when you press that little red button, I will still come to back you up despite the fact that even if I knew who you were, I would never let my emotions, biases or feelings get in the way and I would defend you and protect you from the POS who would fight you.
Why? Because when you get to my age and experience, if you've developed yourself and put your ego in check, you then become the professional you have been espousing without putting other officers down. There's a reason we are called vets or seasoned officers. Keep in mind many of us came from other agencies, we've been there, done this done that been bitten punched, wrestled ect. Today we have it nicer. Quite frankly, after all the BS from the public, staff, management
And media. I welcome the the new policy of staying here and having so much downtime. Don't worry you'll become an ol horse one day and you'll enjoy the pasture. That's all. If you. We're my son I'd tell you the same thing . There's no glory in dying over a computer or traffic stop. If you must know, I was fearless in my 20s and when I look back at all the close calls that I survived , it's only a divine presence that kept me alive. Don't take the job so serious.Officer Somohano took the same philosophy. He's now dead. I don't mean that condescendingly. He just bought into the same nonsense that school police was not good for the ego so he left for REAL department. Now his kids are fatherless. Enjoy your new career bro. You'll never work crazy shifts and have all holidays and weekends off. It's priceless....

This guy is totally right. We are nothing more then security guards with guns. We are not real police we don’t do real police work, this job is a joke at the end of the day. There is a reason why we are payed so little compared to the rest of the county it’s because we are not real cops. So just sit back and collect the paycheck. We are already the laughing stock of dade county when it comes to police departments. Don’t stress it just read a book or something.

Let’s get one thing clear. This might be a great “department” for the benefits and days off but this place will never be a real police department. All these “veterans” in the place brag about the good old days. Shut up! What did you do arrest little Timmy for stealing a crayon? Grow up and just admit you’re not a real cop and will forever be a glorified security guard just above the position of a mall cop. Go to a real police call and you’ll shit your pants cause all you’ve done is sit in your car and watch Netflix. Might be chill and all, but you can’t say you’re a real cop.

What about Surfside, Sweetwater, Bal Harbor, Bay Harbor, Aventura, Sunny Isles, etc? They are not real departments either?

And like an ignorant person, you do not understand what police means. Throughout this great nation, exists many police departments. Some are State, County and municipal. Some cities are huge metropolitan jurisdictions with millions and some are small rural towns with less than 300 residents.
Regardless of how much action each agency gets, they are all certified police departments and each officer is certified by the state to enforce state law.
What's getting lost in your ignorance and ego, you think a police officer is determined by the amount of risk you take or exposed to while on the job.
It's OK your recent birth and lack of knowledge is understandable. This agency was created to address the crimes occurring on school property since 1954. Why, because other municipal or county police had their own problems and school crimes were placed in que, which meant very delayed police services. By creating their own police force, the district had the luxury and benefits of having a police force at its perusal. Meaning, the district could have traditional police services but also the ability to influence how the agency polices.
Remember, in America it doesn't matter if you commit the crime or didn't, it's up to the state to prove it before they can take away your property and freedom.
So if by chance crime goes down and you have all that down time, oh well bro it's not our problem but benefit. So, if you want to be Rambo, go leave, find a big city, get a job there and if by chance your successful in getting involved in the most dangerous situations, when you get shot and killed, we will be happy to tell your kids and wife you win!
And while your 6 feet under, the rest of us will be sipping Pina colladas in the Bahamas wink wink.....
Red pill for today. The system was created for initiates to make money not get yourself killed.
    So mote it be.......
