Global Corona-virus Pandemic?
Virus is mutating: should all flights from China be halted?

Journalism can never be silent: that is its greatest virtue and its greatest fault. It must speak, and speak immediately, while the echoes of wonder, the claims of triumph and the signs of horror are still in the air.

The virus will probably be eventually stopped, like SARS was stopped in Africa (only 8k-10k people died). However, if the Corona virus is not stopped, then Sarasota County would be hit particularly hard because it is a retirement community and the elderly are particularly susceptible to the flu. Sarasota County could be turned into a mass graveyard. In fact Florida, the land of elderly snowbirds, would be hit the hardest.

What CDC is NOT saying
This virus is believed to have a “reproduction rate” of 4, which means each existing case creates 4 new cases. If each of those “secondaries” creates 4 of its own new cases, then the currently identified U.S. cases could reflect as many as 80 people infected. Is that what the CDC means when they say they have 100 people “under investigation”?

This new coronavirus affects the young more than the old... so it's very very different than other flu viruses. Flu viruses usually affect old people more, but this new virus affects young people more... Scientists are theorizing that the young are more susceptible to the virus because they have stronger immune systems... and when they catch the virus, their strong immune system attacks it, causing their lungs to quickly fill up with fluid, so then they drown in their own fluid.
We take it for granted that technology will be able to stop this virus before it becomes a pandemic in the United States... and we probably will be able to successfully manage this virus... but if for some odd reason it did turn into a pandemic, then first responders would be the first people to contract the virus (street cops & paramedics & hospital workers, etc)... places where large groups of people traditional gather would suddenly become empty for fear of catching the virus (grocery stores, malls, crowded tourist beaches, crowded restaurants, etc)...

86 people dying every DAY in China
In China, 86 people die of virus every DAY and the numbers are continuing to grow:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ers-homes.html
If it becomes a pandemic in the United States, then sheriffs, chiefs and city/county commissioners will have to start thinking about commandeering large buildings to quarantine the infected:
- Robards arena
- Schools can be turned into quarantined facilities because they are already encircled by prison-like fences
Hopefully it will not spread in the United States like it has in China, but if it does spread, then these are the things that administrators need to start thinking about.
