The Corruption of Carmine Marceno and Amira Fox

Carmine Marceno raised thousands for Amira Fox's campaign, he was her closest campaign supporter. Now Amira Fox should be prosecuting Marceno for several felonies, but Carmine Marceno gets a pass. Marceno falsely impersonated a law enforcement officer for 17 years, falsified documents to illegally become a law enforcement officer and illegally used his office to pursue sex with crime victims. Amira Fox has a duty to prosecute Marceno under the laws of Florida, but she refuses. Now Lee County has the special honor of being the most corrupt county in Florida.

If the local prosecutor, Amira Fox, will not prosecute appointed Sheriff Carmine Marceno for his crimes, then Attorney General Ashley Moody should get involved, or the Governor should reassign the case to another prosecutor who actually enforces the law. Marceno falsified his sworn application for a deputy sheriff, twice, once with Collier County and then again Lee County. Marceno illegally used his office to target crime victims for his sexual gratification.

First, I am NOT a fan of Marceno nor am I a fan of Leavens.... I don't have a dog in this fight. But, I am writing this to defend the reputation of Amira whom I have professionally known for 27 years. The fact that Marceno supported Amira during her election and raised money for her does not mean they are cut from the same cloth. I think the Marceno baggage came to light long after the state attorney election. How can you find fault with Amira accepting support from Marceno before she knew any of the facts that are now coming to light. Fast forward to today... should the FDLE or any other investigative agency find probable cause to charge Marceno, they will send it to Amira's office, who in turn, will conflict off the case just like she did with the FMPD Captain who is now charged with prostitution and perjury. State Attorneys do not prosecute sheriffs who are in their own Judicial Circuits.... they always conflict off the case which gets reassigned to another State Attorney by the Governor, as it should. This process is not unique to SWFL; it is SOP throughout the state. Amira does not have a corrupt bone in her body! Nothing I say will change anyone's opinion of Amira. But as a friend, I must voice my opinion on her behalf and defend her reputation. And for those who are thinking Mike Fox is writing this... I am not him.

I’m not for or against Angela, but she needs to be honest about her boyfriend at FDLE. She knows the truth and it will come out, some are just more patient with news releases.

Amira Fox is corrupt as the day is long. She knew Marceno was a crook. Amira Fox had her opponent arrested. Amira Fox is knee deep in this corrupt mess. Now Amira Fox is trying to distance herself from the Corruption of Carmine Marceno. Also, State Attorneys throughout the State of Florida have prosecuted corrupt Sheriffs and Police Chiefs for years, but Amira Fox will not prosecutor Carmine Marceno for anything, no matter what felony he commits, because she is tied to Marceno. Birds of a feather.

You are correct... many sheriffs and police chiefs have been prosecuted - and convicted - by state attorneys. But, not by the state attorney in the Judicial Circuit where the sheriff or police chief served... it was prosecuted by a state attorney from another Judicial Circuit. If I am incorrect, please post a case where a state attorney prosecuted a sitting sheriff serving in his/her judicial circuit. I would assume that if Amira chose to prosecute Marceno - if she receives a case - you would be the first to comment that the prosecution by her office would be tainted and demand that another state attorney prosecute the case. I invite you to search the Governor's web site and research the assignment of a different state attorney from which judicial circuit the crime originated. The reasons are far and wide why conflicts occur resulting in the assignment of another state attorney. There are 20 State Attorneys in Florida. No doubt, when Amira conflicts off the Marceno case, there are 19 other State Attorneys who will have no problem prosecuting Marceno.... if there is a case to prosecute.
