    A lot of micromanagement and stress on the job to even think about putting in 30 yrs on the job, for what is really a decent job, but they make it very stressful. They've made it a 30 yr retirement here, who the hell wants to be a 65 yr old cop. It's to demanding physically and mentally. It's a damn shame they have made it this way. I believe it was done this way to make sure no one gets a retirement here and they ae always hiring new people who really have no hope of a retirement on the job here.

    Yes of course, just making a point. I'm guessing you are already set under the old plan and don't care much about it either way or about us new hires.

    You could start your officers at $70,000 + and it still wouldn't make a difference in morale. Good luck in retaining what you have. This agency needs new command staff and a serious reform.

    It's bad micromanagement here and very SOP robotic type enforcement oriented and what must be done for messing up on the job. It is guaranteed here for a patrolperson a one to one punishment for anything you have done wrong or worse. Wrecking your car, or whatever of the hundred other violations on the job you could violate. There is no being called into the office and talked to, and communication between the officer and Admin. It is just the opposite here of dealing with officer violations that Royce Decker teaches in his supervision classes at HCC.

    That's not even the real BS questions on the test;

    1. How many months out of the year does someone have to work to collect FLMA....? Are you kidding me, as question to be a supervisor?....That is what a look up.

    2. At least two or three questions wanting to know what level of statute is the crime? Another BS question that can be looked up. The main point, is do you know if it is a Felony or a Misdemeanor.

    3. Officers find contraband in a persons room allowed to be search by a parent and is arrested. Is it a good arrest? Well where was the suspect, in the room or sitting outside in a car?

    A lot of bad questions on that test. It was configured to be very hard with a lot of very obscure questions that have nothing to do with supervision or decisions on the job. Stuff, a supervisor and would never encounter on the job to make a decision. The test was meant to be hard and whoever guessed the best answers would pass. It had very little to do with Supervisor decisions on the job.

    If you could not answer these simple questions, then you have no business getting promoted...

    You have to be employed for 12 months to be eligible for FMLA; if the parent has routine access to the room, the discovery is fine and the evidence is admissible...very simple stuff that you every employee and cop should know...

    I did not study, nor did I take the test and I am a slick sleeve...Geez you are stupid as hell!
