This job is easy as hell outside of the office. What’s the big deal about getting out of your car and checking out a bicycle? If the kid took the time to register it he would normally take the time to lock it up so it’s probably worth looking into. Unsecured bicycles are targets for thieves and we are being proactive by securing them. If no one comes looking for it we have a policy to address that. It’s no different than a laptop or wallet, we impound it for safekeeping and try to notify the owne if we can identify them. There is no minimum dollar value set for safekeeping and what might not seem of value to you may be very valuable or expensive to whomever owns it.

We know what we are and where we work but do we really need to be flaunting it out in public? We all made the horrible decision of accepting a job here but why do this to ourselves?
