Mark Chamberlain! He was the most qualified candidate by far. Its a shame that money and the good ole boy "buddy" system got in the way of a much better future for Hendry County. I say the Governor appoints him! It would be the best choice and everybody knows it.

Much love for Angell, but no.

Nice idea, but no. The county has had enough of "home grown" candidates with too many hangers on and self appointed 'power brokers' Hendry County will never break away from its past or cycle of voting for liked versus bona fide qualified.

Ask: What qualifes him, or any other want to be Sheriff, to run a multi million dollar budget and manage 150+ employees.

If the Garcia definition of "business expereince" comes out, tune it out. You need a background or education, or both to run the agency.

Look hard at expereince first, not just years in FRS. With the imminent removal almost certain, say the top 2 are taken out, the interim (very frightening) might look at the remaining top to take 102 for the interim - that is picking from already bad apples though association and conspiracy. The top remaining brass should be reassigned to something harmless - they are as much as pat of the system that exists now, period.

There is not a Capt ot Lt qualifed to be 102, its like handing a chimpanzee an SKS, its not a good idea. But then again, replacing any of the existing (and soon remaining) Capts and Lts with a chimpanzee, WOULD work better than who has been there.

Maybe after a decade in his new (good choice Clew) position, after the department has truly had 2 solid terms of cleaning and purging and totally new compass, yes, maybe

Take notes Angell, do right by the city, and the county might one day - one day, might do you right. Dont forget your 10-65 days

Rank is something which is granted, respect and integirty and being decent follows you no matter where you go and what your wear. Only let the pay change, not your character.

    Word.

Look at the desperate line forming already.

Really? What qualifies him "by far"? List it.

You say the governor appoints him. I say you are a pathetic troll at the least and real close to this "by far" best qualified "candidate"

Just for tossing his name out here, prematurely and with ulterior motives - youve successfully created an opposition.

Congrats. Look forward to seeing him in the special election. He can thank you for the futility of his campaign.

Deep. read the news. 101 was once a slick sleeve, he totally lost his way, and overestimated his ability. He probably going to do time. Him and a few other bad apples.

Demote and reassign the remaining spoiled fruit. Cant fire them so the county and the taxpayer is stuck with them

Woods? Which one. Sr or Jr? Either one is a underable choice. Both have a lot in common, none of it worthwhile or useful to run a department.

Beatty? Wouldnt surprise to see him take a shot.

Pelham? Wouldnt surprise either, but hes part of the same network "everyone" complains about. Hes a Lt with the city, related to various city and county officials. He's "kin" to alot of "people".

Griffin? Sure, you want someone who left a pile, boxes, of case work, which was stuffed like a mailman hiding mail he didnt feel like delivering. Crap record @ SAO, ask around. Part of the system which continues today, and totally incompetent. MF woud be a better candidate. So, if Griffin puts his name in - so should MF. I'd vote for MF before anyone else on this list.

Reed? Like Woods, he could claim the whole Captain thing, and run on the same line as the LT - "it wasnt me who was removed" Basically running on bars, the ones he wears and the ones his benefactors are presumably behind if he did put his name in. However, when you connect some dots and do a timeline about those bars he wears - "hush bars"

Pepitone. Ok, open minded. Give it shot.

    Van Houten. Who? lol....

    Jackson... No.

Garcia ? "I have business expereince which I could bring to the department" Sorry but a "refinishing business" in no way prepares you for being Sheriff, even with a hard core 6 years of expereince on the mean streets of La Belle. If he worked say, City of Miami, high volume calls, violent of the chain, different story.

6 years of Hendry County "expereince" and "He would rely on attracting seasoned professionals – retired, experienced officers to serve as consultants for a short time – to help him instill a culture of professionalism in the department" - look at the "consultants" (a former removed Sheriff himself, a benefactor) and seasoned officers 102 was a seasoned officer, look at what its added up to know, and look at how that "seasoned officer" ran of actual real seasoned officers.

Dare I speak their names? CP MM and theres a few in retirement that anyone in their right mind would want if they truly wanted to turn things around.

There eventually will be an election, special or regular. Tell those of us here who don't "know how it works" more. Can we look for your name on the candidate list? Hendry County needs someone who knows how things work. Where have you been all these years?
