I came from New Jersey. I was a PO. To become a PO was to take a test and get hired. The only traning was how to work the computer system. Home visits where done a various times And all we had was a vest and pepper spray. I saw the itinerary for the classes and it was all stuff i did in NJ. That is why im asking about the academy. I know this is Florida and everything is done different in the sout but that is why im asking what to exepect from the academy

I don't mind you asking at all. I just hope you find what's best for you, and what you will be good at, you will need the motivation. I am just a bit surprised that some running at the Probation Academy bothers you so much. This website is also not 100% reliable, everybody can post here, including people who don't even, and have never worked, in Corrections-LE-Probation, so be careful when you read things!
Some will tell you that the Academy is like Navy Seals fitness level, others will guarantee you than you will only do some stretching and play call of duty and pokemon go the rest of the day, and some might just be honest but what they did X years ago might not be true today.
Good luck!

I might be wrong but I think NJ separates Parole. In Florida it is done by 1 Department. Please correct me if I am incorrect but I have been tole in NJ and NY Parole are Leo's Probation is not. I agree with the previous poster. I have been to both academy's and the physical part is the same. However, not the same as FHP and Fish/ Game (now they bust ass everyday). I have been told P&P is the hardest academically. Your already expected to know quite a bit (4 year degree required). I will tell you this---in P&P you will be expected to arrest people, you will work with local state and federal leo a lot, you will do searches, people will resist arrest etc... If your looking for Social Work, work in that profession. Remember we are much closer kin to police than any other.---Good Luck to you.

I go to the gym doing everything i can but if i can foucs on what they want us to do at the academy then thats what i will do. That is why im looking to recent recruits and what they did.

Isn't it obvious this clown is not a new officer getting ready for an academy? When he plants the words "social worker behind a desk" you know its a bitter, old timer who is unhappy because he's fat, overweight, out of shape, out of date, needs Viagra and is bitter because he never has accomplished anything except a divorce and a double wide trailer. You people are gullible.
