    Question Clarity

What's the hiring process like, and how long does the process typically take?
What about Investigator II dress code?
    Scheduling of Hours, Holiday/Weekend etc?
Anything helpful to someone interested in the department?
Don't simply focus on negatives, positives as well but honest truth evaluation is the focus.

The hiring process consists of the physical abilities test, and oral interview which will take place the same day. The results will then go to headquarters, and the candidates will be ranked and sent back to the field office. A Detective will then take over your file for background. You will then receive a packet in the mail with the information you will need to schedule your physical, and psychological. You will be notified by a polygraph examiner to set an appointment for your polygraph. The process usually takes about 4 months roughly, but it depends on how complex your background is, and how fast HR responds.

    Dress code:

Typically khakis and a polo shirt. Some people choose to wear the BDU pants with the agency issued polo shirt.

    Hours:

Usually 8-5, M-F, no holidays or weekends. We do have some flexibility, if you need to stay late to work on a case or start early to catch someone at home/work, you can flex your hours. We do not get overtime.

Overall it is not a bad place to work, but each office may have some issues of their own. The schedule is nice, and in some areas you may have your own office. The laid back environment is nice, but we work for the state which means we are at the mercy of the legislature for raises.

    I hope this information helps.

    Extremely helpful. Greatly appreciated.
Should anyone else care to add to or take away from what was said, you have the floor to do so.
