    Working in the jail

    So I was considering applying for the jail. I have been in Corrections for over 10 years. How is the culture in the county jail? Does administration support you?

    They support you until you have an iffy use of force then they throw you under the bus to IA. The supervisors are more concerned about protecting their own cushy positions and promotional tracks than the deputies who work the housing units. The deputies are just glorified babysitters of crybaby criminals. If all you want is a steady paycheck and a pension at the end, this job is for you.
