    Interesting Debate

What do you do with a hard working guy who seems to want to do right, but his judgment is impaired?
You might try to better train him.
However, when the individual does not accept the training (or is unable to be trained), then individual has to leave.
There are hundreds of LEO who comply with the rules and do well in their jobs.
In this case, the officer lied about what happened at an intersection, and an innocent civilian was accused of a crime that he did not commit.
The fact that the officer allowed the innocent guy to take the blame means that the officer lacks integrity.
You might like him a lot, but police work is not for those willing to trash a civilian to preserve his standing.

To all of those who have defended Ramos here, what do you say about the part where the innocent civilian took the fall due to Ramos' lie? Is the innocent civilian just a casualty of the way things have to be in your department? Hell no. This is the type of thing leads to corrupt departments.

Everyone has a right to defend Ramos, and I respect the good comments that have been made about him.
At some point, however, there has to be a standard where those who lie have to know that it means "the end" if they are caught. Ramos was caught.

You can still like Ramos as he finds a new job that is more appropriate for his skills. We can all like him for his good qualities. However, we simply cannot trust him to be in places where innocent civilians will be placed in future harm.

At the end of the day none of us were there to hear what Ramos said. We all know the media screws up stories all the time. Hopefully he drives 15 mph when you bashers are stealing drugs and getting your butt whooped.

    Cool truth????????????

“The truth is he was on a 3-15.”

the truth is, if you ARE your way to a 3-15, and don't make it there, then your no good to anyone.

1 - with being said, you have to get there fast and SAFELY in order to be any use whatsoever! apparently he doesn't know how to do that.
2 - he 17'ed his city issued patrol vehicle because he doesn't know his S.O.P. , nor the traffic laws. (they show over turn all his traffic citations that he has ever given and make him pay back all the overtime slips he turned in.)
3 - double check any arrests he made in the past and see if he lie there too!
4 - re-check any O/I's and see if HE being an F.T.O. lie or didn't know the laws there again.
5 - Find out who signed him off while he was a rookie, and retrain whoever that was!
6 - continue investigation on who would sign off on his reports, obviously they had no clue what they were doing either!

that all I have to say about that!

    love you

He definitely needs to be terminated.
He flat out lied on an official report. In the future, if he remains a LEO, defense attorneys will have a field day, ripping him in court...instilling reasonable doubt in the jury by proving Ramos testimony is sketchy and possibly lies.

IMO, his days as a LEO are over.

In So. Miami he had 5 accidents on duty in 6 months, all deemed preventible.

    Now this accident? He's done.
