I love how the police are described as using great restraint when they are being assaulted by potential deadly objects. Under the law, and under any other cirmcumstances, deadly force would be justified. We are witnessing how the authority to respond has been so diminished that any offensive action is now deemed extreme

What's not said about the guy is he had lead poisoning which lends itself to neuromuscular instability and vertebral weakness, ie., spinal cord injury.
