ST. PETERSBURG POLICE WARN OF ALARMING SPIKE IN CAR THEFTS AND BURGLARIES
Car thefts and burglaries have risen dramatically in St. Petersburg..."There are about 100 kids in our city that are doing all of these crimes." Because the alleged perpetrators are so young, they are sometimes released the same night or the day after their arrest.

The chief made felony auto thieves eligible for juvenile diversion in his 10/28/14 memo. He got educated upside the head so scratch that. However, watch for more "iniatives" arising from the criminal faction. Oh, such as pressure to make all of Kanika's Kids misdemeanants, turning auto theft into trespassing in a conveyance.

What Was In The Chief's 10/28/2014 Memo / Cops won't haul off kids through age 17 anywhere in the City of St Petersburg for these offenses
-domestic violence walloping mama, grandmama
-dealing cocaine on school property
-auto theft
-house burglary
-commercial burglary
-fleeing and eluding
-gang brawling on school grounds
-trashing school property
-punching an innocent kid in school
-possession of cocaine with intent to sell

The chief's head must be tick engorged. His memo went out to all personnel. He got cold feet a few hours later & sent a quickie notice of retraction that only some but not all personnel received. The fact is that some arrests were/are in limbo because chiefy poo's barn door is hangin' wide open.

The PBA announced in the paper that they strongly support the chief. In fact the word "LOVE" was used. That's quite a commitment of trust. If the boss is all that, can someone tell me why
we should continue paying union dues? especially now that the PBA thinks the chief has our best interests in mind?

Holloway told the Gibbs High gathering his department is going to begin documenting every time an officer stops someone, regardless of whether a citation is issued. If the same person is stopped repeatedly, department leaders will notice and ask why. As for the chief, George Lofton said the officers “love him, no question about that”

Easy to say when your chair has a permanent b u t t imprint. GL+cronies have desk jobs for life, they & theirs skip out on vaca & long holiday weekends without taking turns with the grunts who get stuck humping their load. Patrol is a distant memory for most of these guys & gals. Locked promos, locked transfers to specialized units. Suck it up & pay your dues so they can throw another party.

They've got so much time on the dept. that leaving isn't an option. Might as well feather their nest before retiring. Mel, maj Paul, and their fellow PBA luvin' skaters don't want to share the goodies with anyone else except for their slacker support team runners on the promo lists and making certain allowances for the coalition to get a piece of the pie so as to avoid conflicts. The mascot is the big strapping handsome guy who doubles as a male model for the chief's glam shots of SPPD. Everything is beautiful. This is what it's about, people. Law enforcement takes a back seat.

Thee are the values of the city of StPete. The citizens of StPete voted these people into office. Your job is to comply with the wishes of the community. YOU YOU YOU don't get to decide what the values of the community are. Don't start with the crap about the vocal minority or the silent majority. That doesn't mean crap even if it were true (it's not). The citizens voted these people into office to do their work. If you don't like it, then quit. If you can't quit and start over somewhere else, then sit down, do what you're told, and STFU.

Tom, this was covered in Post #26 duhhhhhh. Mayor and chief know who they got by the pension short hairs. When the chief went around to unit meetings the first thing he wanted to know was how much time you had on. I can't say I blame the old timers for coasting because there's no citizen or council support. It's easier to roll over and bark I LOVE CHIEF HOLLOWAY. Not saying it's right, just saying. But gawdayum Tom knock it off already.
