More poor reporting on Uhurus

"St. Pete protesters rally around Mike Brown shooting" was the news story.


Chanel 10 reported on the Uhurus this Saturday. They equated the Ferguson killing with every black criminal shot by police and they criticized the chief when he did not respond to a demand to come out and talk to them, even thought this was Saturday afternoon and he should be off work enjoying the weekend.

The Uhurus speak for south St. Pete when lazy reporters give them a forum and don't seek out resident leaders.

To provide "balance" the reporter talked about the racist groups that are raising money for the cop to support what looks to just about everyone like an unjustified killing, as if these 2 extreme groups who exploit a tragedy are the two sides of a story.

When the southside became a war zone we lost a lot of good people to violence and the prison system. We deserve better policing and an honest discussion of how we get there without foolish propaganda that only raises money for a small group. Peace and progress will come with a partnership between citizens and police that breaks down the no snitch rule and tells thugs they will no longer be tolerated.
