I for one think that JP is ready and even more capable than Loftus to run this place. Loftus was a good man, but one that tried to do things all by himself.

Through out the years, we all have seen people get promoted that didn't deserve to. Unfortunately, it happens everywhere and probably isn't going to change.

no matter how great a leader, you can't ignore the fact that we have 15 + years of poor hiring & training , poor promotions with a void in leadership, and a disfunctional police culture that wasn't created overnight. It won't be fixed in three or six years. Supervision by intimidation is not going to work.

I think the point to be made from the other above guest is that the department is lacking all levels of leadership and resorts to intimidation when all fails; all has failed.
A leader leads from the front, not the rear. We have few supervisors that will do what they are asking of their troops.
