The appointment is about HIM and what is best in HIS political future and who he can trust in terms of loyality. Issues of skill and competancy aren't at the top of that list...that's what all the third floor brass is for. Also don't forget there will be other promotions for Asst. Directors and Chiefs and that's when the MDPD talent will rise.

Dr. Boyd has been in law enforcement for many years and has proven that she is a leader. It's about time that the county put its racist past behind them and hire this very qualified African American female.
