Is over folks, the Miami-Dade Inspector General has 'decided' to dodge its responsibility and we doubt Mr. Gimenez will tackle this 'hot potato' either! Read below:

Hey Rolo, everyone who knows the police officer bill of rights knows that the inspector general has 5 days to look at the allegations and if it is a criminal offense it must be sent to a law enforcement agency, SAO or the like for investigation.

Hey Exley, were you wearing your eye glasses when you ‘divined’ the alleged five-day window under FSS 112.532 — Law enforcement officers’ and correctional officers’ rights? I’ve made it a mission to study the law in order to elude pencil necks like you. Yet maybe, just maybe, I’m getting long in the tooth and missed what you claim. Perhaps in his haste to dump this ‘hot potato’ the Inspector General sought refuge in Attorney General’s Opinion Number: 2006-35, which asserts as follows” “. . . the Miami-Dade Police Department is the exclusive agency responsible for the receipt, investigation and determination of complaints received by Miami-Dade pursuant to sections 112.532 and 112.533, Florida Statutes.” If so, my previous assertion stands: Is over! Do you think anyone at PCB will actually investigate the whistle blower’s allegations; never mind find evidence that might help Disposition Panel members sustain any of them? Moreover, what Disposition Panel member will risk his/her exempt rank should the preponderance of the evidence demand sustaining one or most of the allegations? No, what happens in POAT stays in POAT. Unless of course, whoever is elected mayor decides to lift the carpet to find out why it smell like cat excrement! Shame though, such noble cause and more importantly, the folks contributing to POAT, deserve an unbiased investigation to determine whether or not the Trust is compromised as the whistle blower alleges. Guess, Rollo Tomasi’s influence is pervasive; even at MDPD!

Gimenez doesn’t give a damn about police officers or their families; his heartless managerial actions are proof of that. If it were politically advantageous for him at this juncture of the mayoral campaign, he would use this “alleged” sad episode to buttress his scorched-earth campaign against police officers and the rest of the working class in county government. Still, these allegations cannot; must not be swept under the rug as mere disgruntlement. No, they must be independently vetted, the reputation of those alleged to have transgressed have been impugned. If I were them, I would demand an investigation by an external entity to avoid even the appearance of impropriety. Director Loftus, this is the time to lead by example!

Fret not Whistler Blower, route your allegations to Governor Rick Scott’s office. Clearly, the Miami-Dade County Inspector General Office (IGO); unlike the MDPD’s Environmental Bureau and the PBA’s president’ questionable pay cases, has cravenly abdicated his responsibilities and swerved your complaints to the source of the alleged problem – the Miami-Dade Police Department. As if that would bring clarity and transparency to your claims! It appears no one wants to touch your complaints with a ten foot pole. The Miami Herald has been curiously silent and even that paragon of truth and incisive journalism, Jim Defede, has not waded into the maelstrom. And Mayor Gimenez, obviously he is not interested or willing to play; not yet any way. How interesting! The Governor and the Attorney General, however, may not be as acquiescent. You cite that POAT is using free FDLE office space to conduct the trust’s business while officers and significant employees are on Miami-Dade’s pay roll. That alone, must be reason enough to investigate, as it may be theft of taxpayers’ subsidized wages. If that is the case, POAT is too noble a cause to be soiled by the deeds and greed of a few opportunists. Your allegations, Whistle Blower, must be fully vetted and if you are blowing smoke and impugning those who have dedicated their own time and effort to this worthy cause, likewise your claims must be exposed for what they may be. . .

Maybe, does it make the suggestion less reasonable?

No, not really just noteing the tone and identification that's all. We are all entitled to our views and I accept yours. But----- If you are realy honest look back and tell me truethfully that much of this is true or not. Also, when it comes to discipline, doing the correct thing, suspensions, demotions or forced and voluntary resignations and disappearences, appointed people hold the winning record per capita, hows that?
    Now, you be honest.
