Vote all the R's out in November
The damage is done already, our pensions have been cut, FRS years of service extended, FRS Cost of Living cut down, DROP percentage reduced from 6% to 1%, salary reductions, layoffs, health insurance up, and while all this goes on they give generous tax cuts to the corporations in Florida.
All this damage has been caused by republican governor Rick Scott and his legislature, mayor Gimenez, The League of Cities, The Chamber of Commerce, those who hate public servants, and above all REPUBLICANS in elected offices.
Take a look at what they are doing right now in Tallahassee, trying to privatize corrections officers jobs in order to benefit private corporations. That is a republican initiative and a campaign promise by Scott.
Don't let them fool you anymore with all this "we are broke, we need to cut your benefits", and "its Obama's fault that we have to do this"... BS, republicans have always been against public employees making a decent living, and they hate you because you have a pension so far, and can retire before age 65.
VOTE AGAINST EVERY SINGLE REPUBLICAN IN NOVEMBER!!!!

Ain't goin to happen brother, and don't start name calling. Things are falling apart because of Obama and the Dem's, anyone could figure that out. If you thinks that cops are going to vote for the CCrat's after them hugging the occupyer's, you nuts.

Well, my fine feather hysterical friend, even my kids know that you can't spend money you don't have (Unless you are the Federal Government in which case you just print more)
The County and the State obtain their spending revenues from property taxes as well as other things like permit fees and the tax on utilities, gasoline, oil, etc.
The housing crisis caused an increase in available housing coupled with an increase in unemployment which resulted in everyone's home being devalued. This devaluation affected the advalorem taxes and thus greatly reduced the amount of tax dollars available by both the state and the counties. Of course this was all exacerbated by people who purchased homes that they well knew they could not afford. I blame the banks on that one, of course they had help from Fredymac and Fanniemae.
Look around and you will find that this economic meltdown is occurring all over the world, specially in countries with massive amounts of entitlements. (see all of Europe) in this country its also affecting the Federal Agencies. Yes, the FBI, DEA, Customs and all of the others are facing massive budget cuts and streamlining.
The road that brought us here is long, complicated and full of blame for both political parties.
Concentrate in insuring that you live within your economic means and hopefully survive this period

In fact FRS is one of the strongest pension systems in the nation, and before the Bush great recession, it had a large surplus that prevented any damage to it's funds.
It's funny how republicans always take us down the path of poverty as in the case of Hoover, and later it was a democrat FDR who saved the day bringing the nation back from the ashes. Later it was democrat Bill Clinton who left the White House with a monumental surplus, and only a year later republican GW Bush had evaporated every penny of it, and of course Lawton Chiles before his death left a very healthy state economy with a bright future that was crushed by the likes of Jeb Bush, Charlie Christ, and company. IN FLORIDA NO POLICE OFFICER IN THEIR RIGHT MIND CAN VOTE FOR A REPUBLICAN EVER.

I find it hilarious that every time someone says something you can't defend it becomes the fault of Fox News or GW Bush. I guess you get your cues from the White House Press Secretary.
I bet you too got that “Tingly feeling down your leg” when Barack Hussein Obama was elected.
For your information, Lawton Childs did away with all step raises for state employees during his administration. Most state employees are making the same amount of money now that they were making 10 years ago sans the pitiful 2 or 3 % yearly cost of living increases. So much for your Dem Hero!.
The truth of the matter is that most Republicans are very pro-law enforcement whereby the dems are not and view us as the tools of repression.
Your hero Billy Clinton hated cops, ask any Secret Service Agent that may talk to you candidly. Our present Commander in Chief openly stated that an officer acted "Stupidly" without knowing the facts of the case, then invited him to a beer at the White House for damage control. Real class act.
Like I said before, the economic issues affect the entire nation, not just this county, also as I said before, there is plenty of blame to go around in both parties.
You are blinded by your politics, and you are entitled to your views, but don't come here selling your primate excrement as Chateaubriand.

Dude !!!! Great respose above !! No way a majority of cops will ever vote for Crat's, esprcially Obama and his occupy mob. Plenty of our troops are upset, no doubt, they are just not real good at fully analyzing how we got here, they miss the mistakes at every level.
You watch, the unions are now impotent and pissed off, let's see how they place Crat's on the endorsement list, can't wait?
