County Police Officers, the Mayor and the citizens are right, we need to save the county money. I suggest all officers park their police cars and only handle dispatched calls, that way we can save the county gas money.Think green,write less reports and citations.

Loftus may not be perfect as some expect him to be but the true feelings of the masses is shown when Loftus walks into a room. He is respected for what he does with what he has to work with. What this county needs is an elected sheriff not an appointed director who is chained to the county mayor it's commission and the county manager. A sheriff elected by the people has more power over the department.

Answer: It was 10X worse and is the reason we have an appointed Director. I would consider being for it, it there is some qualifier that you have to be Law Enforcement certified (CJSTC) to run.

I don't see any problems with Loftus at all. Tough times, tough decisions, none of the options are good.

Children the reason they went to appointed was election corruption many, many moons before most of your were born. Favors were granted for monetary champaign donations combined with vice squad getting busted for bribes and folks voted for the charter change.
