Re: Sheriff Gualtieri announces promotions
Who cares....Another political ploy by a loser candidate....trying to buy votes. Just like his " I wont take a raise cause my deputies haven't got one in five years or I'm reinstating the shift differential for overnight shifts....Hey bobby boy, we've been on 12hr shift since 2007 not 2003 you jackass. Damn, you can't even remember when you started to destroy moral. Let me help you.. It's when you took over as Chief Deputy in 2006 (not 2007, like the idiot times keeps reporting. Remeber, you weren't even certified back then.) We all see thru the bulls**t that your trying hand us. Trying to atone for sins to the agency by buying votes, shameful tatics for such a proffessional such as you...your lack of integrity is sickening....Here's to you loser....You won't win and all of your knee-jerk decisions will be undone... RICE 2012!!

Gulatierri=POS morale buster looking for votes. No personality and will be known for convincing a senile sheriff to promote him with no qualifications.
Rice=Drunk most of his career and a womanizer, and still is. Old and washed up. Couldn't make it as a lawyer. Bye bye
Ingold=The best man for the job, no doubt.

Re: Sheriff Gualtieri announces promotions
Congrats to all the newly promoted. Good luck to each one of you.
To the poster that decided to make this into a blast on Car-1, it is very apparent that you never worked under Rice. Although it is true he is a nice guy, here are facts (NOT OPINIONS) that you can verify: 1) Under Rice, all certified members had to work 86 hours before time and a half was granted, 2) Rice eliminated the pay step plan, 3) Rice took away free health insurance for members, 4) Rice took away your health insurance upon retirement 5) Rice went (8) years without promotions- except for his friends he brought in as executive staff 6) Rice went (8) years without pay raises and gave money back to the BOCC each year, 9) Rice was in office when the road deputies were forced to join a union, 10) Rice had CSI’s making more money then road deputies 11) Rice’s excessive spending is what led you to now having to cut 108 million dollars.
All of this can be verified through HR or public records. I’m not going to push my political view on you, but please look at the facts and not people’s opinions. Too many lies and empty promises are now out there, so please do your homework before blasting your boss on a public website.

Re: Sheriff Gualtieri announces promotions
Sure Rice has some warts but he is far better than Gualtieri. It's a choice between the lesser evils. Ingold is the "Ron Paul" candidate, unknown to most voters, so basically has a zero chance of being elected.
As far as the 12 hour shifts, South Division was full of rookies who wanted weekends off so they requested the change and Rice gave it to them. Coats and Gualtieri switched the rest of the jail to 12s and reduced the night shift differential from 10% to 5%. It reduced a lot of people's pensions and incomes at the worst possible time.

I think the most rational route for Rice, would be to get with Ingold let him drop out of the race rather than split the vote, than make Ingold car 2. Then after Rice has had his term in Office. Just like so many other Sheriffs in the past, when he leaves office, pass the car 1 possition to Tim...although Tim was leader of the FOP for many years and helped a number of people achieve their political goals, Rice still carries a lot of weight in Pinellas county....the split between Rice and Ingold on the vote could possibly give Gaultieri the leverage needed to win. Just my thoughts...

Re: Sheriff Gualtieri announces promotions
Rice promised car2 job to Mike Bradley from the FBI. Rice is doing what he did before when he first took office in bringing in worthless FBI guys (Quintin Vaughan). Rice and Gualtieri need to go. Ingold is the only logical choice to make this place respectful again

Re: Sheriff Gualtieri announces promotions
Lets be honest. As long as you keep inmates from escaping, citizens really do not care what hours you work. But lets look at that. You guys cant do twenty minute checks without getting off your ass and letting someone die. No loss in my mind except for the money that our agency will have to pay out now because you couldnt get up from your online reading. 12 hours saves the citizens money, why would they complain? MAYBE YOU SHOULD HAVE PICKED A MORE FULFILLING CAREER!!!
