    Endorsements??? Be Careful!

I understand our FOP has a list of “NEW” Miami Commission endorsements for the Nov.2 election.

What are they? Why were they picked?

This new set of endorsements could end-up sealing our financial future to doom when AGAIN the wrong candidates are picked.

Of course we can’t support the scoundrels who took apart our salary, benefits and pensions….but, if we support a new candidate and they loose, it will give the scoundrel(s) a feeling they were right in what they did.

Since no-one has organized any support for our new endorsements….maybe we should have stayed on the sidelines with…”NO ENDORSEMENTS”.

My only concern is Why does the president decide himself on what candidate to endorse. Why isn't it decided in a open forum with all the members to listen.
What close door deal did the president make for himself in the future? You people are so stupid and blind!

    To Hell and Back...

While walking down the street one day a Corrupt FOP Union President was tragically
hit by a car and died.

His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.

"Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there
is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see,
so we're not sure what to do with you."

"No problem, just let me in," says the Armando..

"Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from the higher ups. What we'll do
is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose
    where to spend eternity."

"Really?, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven," says the Armando.

"I'm sorry, but we have our rules."

And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down,
    down, down to hell.

The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course.
In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his
friends and other executive board members who had worked with him.

Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake
his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich
at the expense of the people and screwing all the union members.
They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and
    the finest champagne.

Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who is
having a good time dancing and telling jokes.

They are all having such a good time that before the President Armando realizes it,
    it is time to go.

Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator
    rises...

The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens in heaven where St.
Peter is waiting for him, "Now it's time to visit heaven.."

So, 24 hours passed with the Armando joining a group of contented souls
moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good
time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter
    returns.

"Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose
    your eternity."

Armando reflects for a minute, then he answers: "Well, I would never
have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I
would be better off in hell."

So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to
    hell..

Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land
covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags,
picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls
    from above.

The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulders.

"I don't understand," stammers Armando. "Yesterday I was here and
there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar,
drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a
wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?"

The devil smiles at him and says,
"Yesterday we were campaigning, Today, you voted.."

Vote wisely on November 2010 FOP elections

That was a great Halloween story. Maybe you could use your creativity on October 29th instead of attacking a fellow police officer anonymously on this website.

Had you attended the meeting last Wednesday you would have heard the discussion on endorsing candidates in an "open forum." If you're so concerned, make time time to attend the meeting and be informed and voice your opinion. Otherwise, keep it to yourself. You can't make change if you don't get involved. Keep the cliche's to yourself. I've heard them all.

Excuse me what discussion? Their was no discussion. Even when asked by Det Cook if the excutive board say something about the candidate that only thing President Aguilar could say was that she spoke well for a black.

First, don't bring race into it. Noone ever said she spoke well for a "black." Secondly, I didn't hear you object when it was brought up for a motion. That's a great spin though. Fact is she requested our endorsement. We don't know if she'll do well by us but we certainly know where the current district 5 commissioner stands. We need to let them know that we can sway elections in conjunction with our other unions. Then and only then will they understand they need to work with us for the betterment of the employees and the citizens.

Why is it such a difficult concept for some of us to understand that we need to stay out of politics ? have we all become insane? it appears that we are about to repeat the same actions of backing up another set of lying politicians and expecting a different outcome. Have we not learned ? perhaps it's always been this way down here... but how has that worked for us? this is really insane!!!!

I thought the same thing until I realized this whole organization is based on politics not department order. When ever an incident happens its treated based on politics "who you know" FOP does the same thing friends are helped to the extreme while other members are kept just given the shoulder. Why do you think elections are not posted months in advance? why do you think their is a vote to distroy the absentee ballots? and yes they become your friends and keep you semi informed when elections are around the corner.... open you eyes!!

It appears that whoever started this post truly does not know the business of the FOP. Further I cannot imagine that any Officer of the Miami Police Department is so blatently ignorant about how politics does play a huge role in the livelihood of ALL officers. What is evident is that the FOP President is doing something right and has evidently stepped on someones toes by the recent endorsement of Alison Austin, someone is definitely hurting!!! As for the law enforcement family don't fall for the "Divide and conquer campaign" that will rip each and every one of you. It's easy to critize but I have not seen anyone come up with the solution on how to restore your lost wages.......any ideas? PS: using religion in this format is low, I cannot imagine that you have this caliber of person wearing such a distinguished uniform, how sad.............
