South Florida Cops on NY Forum

So why are you putting your nose in to NY's forum. Stay in your section. Its nice and dry up here the air is so crisp, you can smell fireplace burning from time to time. Much better then humid tropical ****roach,red ant, infested swamp. Oh wait and now oil drenched Flordida as well as corexit chemical rain. Yipppeeee for you. You like it so much thats fine. Stop comming to NY forums and ranting how great you have it.

Check out their forums, all they do is ***** about their misserably low salaries and their new Govenor, Mr.Scott, who is going to cut their salaries by 5% and force them to pay into their own pension fund!! HA! If things are so great why does the average recruit leave after only 2 years to find another job? The NYPD pensions are three times the pathetic full timers sallary in Fla. Oh, and by the way, NYers know how to take care of their own! :snicker:

You should really do a spell check before making your submission. That makes it appear that NYPD has really lowered their hiring standards. Oh yea, and check your facts too. South Florida Cops make more in their pensions then NYC cops make while working. SF Cops don't retire and move to NY, do they? Stay safe my Yankee friend. The south will rise again!

Well based on your math skills, the SF standards must be much lower than NYPD!! There isn't a cop in the entire state of Fla. that makes what the "Yankee" cops retire with. I'll retire down there (only for the weather and no state tax on my NY pension) on six figures. Oh, and by the way, when I get there I'll vote for RICK SCOTT. You are seriously misinformed. I work for one of the larger departments in south florida and we have about 20 transfers from NYPD(by the way I've never heard about a south florida P.O transferring to NYPD) and they all say the same thing; that they make more money in their first year at our department than they ever made at NYPD. As far as pensions go if you are retiring at 6 figures from NYPD that means you made at least averaged 180k your last 5 years(50% and $12000- supplement). I seriously doubt that. All agencies in South Florida have pensions where you retire with at least 75% of your salary and some as high as 90%. Also, every decent size agency down here has a higher starting and top salary than NYPD. Plus our overtime is not capped. We also have take home vehicles which is a perk worth 7-10k a year. I look forward to your rebuttal

I don't know what there is so much trash talking on here. I came onto the NYPD forum to see if you had an update on your brother that was shot on South Beach this past weekend. I have all the respect in the world for you guys and every cop that has transfered from you guys to us has been a class act.

Simple: without us, your forums would be empty. Look down the list of threads with 1 post/zero replies. We understand though, you lack enough officers with the I.Q. to operate anything more "technical" than a Bagel or a donut-much less figure out how to log onto the computers to even see these forums.. :evil:

I keep hearing,"We don't care how you do it in NY". Just open any Florida newspaper and read about all of the incompetent Florida cops, or the corrupt ones. Florida has a smaller population than NY, but they take the cake when it comes to arrogant, bigoted, prejudiced cops. AND, they don't like to hire NY cops who move to Florida. They think that they are better than everyone else, while they are the ones who don't have a clue.

Florida cops are jealous because they have to work in a hot swamp and have highway patrol that issue tickets to them. New York City is the capital of the world and they are not part of it.

I could not have said it better, I also retired and moved to Florida and worked briefly as a LEO here and it was a horrible experience. You have a couple of good cops but for the most part they don't have a clue. One big reason is because you can only be promoted here based on who you know. The promotional exam is just for show must agencies never even give you your score. So only brown nose rats get promoted abd it destroys the entire agency. I am so grateful for my time in the NYPD and so proud to say I served with the best. Stay safe guys.

Well being that LEO Affairs was the idea of a Tampa, Florida police officer and was made in Florida.
This is kind of a Florida thing. Everything starts in Florida. The 2000 and 2004 elections were
decided in Florida. The terrorists who crashed the plane into the twin towers trained in Florida.

And all New York City cops retire and come to Florida.
