2009 Ride for Ron

On August 15th, 2007, following a DUI Checkpoint on Hwy. 60 in Brandon, Sgt. Ron Harrison of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office was murdered at the intersection of Kings Avenue and Lumsden Road. Sgt. Harrison devoted over 30 years to serving his community, both in and out of uniform.

Following his death, I began a memorial motorcycle ride to keep his memory alive. The 3rd Annual “Ride for Ron” will be held this year on October 31st, kickstands up at 1pm. The ride will begin at the USF Sundome, and after a brief stop at Brandon Harley-Davidson for giveaways, will continue to O’Brien’s Pub in Brandon. This year’s ride will be a “Fun Ride”, and there will be no registration fee to participate. Any donations can be made on-site to MADD.
