BOYNTON BEACH - Deputies on Tuesday thwarted a band of thieves they say committed a series of burglaries and a robbery west of Boca Raton.

About 5 a.m., deputies saw the white SUV used in the crimes around Boca Del Mar and started to follow it, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says.

The vehicle's driver tried to get away, then stopped at Northeast 17th Avenue and Second Lane in Boynton Beach.

Four suspects sprung from the SUV and ran, deputies said.

A man and a juvenile were caught; the other two suspects are being sought.

The Sheriff's Office says the suspects had just committed a robbery in the 6700 block of Taburn Circle, west of Boca Raton, just before the SUV was stopped.

The victim's wallet was recovered from the vehicle as well as a gun, Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Teri Barbera said.
