    FHP Hiring Process; TERRIBLE

Why is the FHP hiring process the way it is?

No oral board, applicants are left in the dark, never a Recruiter to get ahold of.........those are just SOME of the problems with the hiring process.

How can they let 2-3 months go by inbetween steps and not keep in contact with an applicant? No letters, nothing. Even if you pass a step, for example the Polygraphy or Psychological Exam, you're not told for months and months.

And if an applicant calls Tallahassee to find out what's going on the applicants gets scorned with "you're harrassing us......be patient.......we have thousands of applicants......blah blah blah."

Why are applicants left wondering what the status of their file is?

I thought an agency with so much manpower problems and are ACTIVELY HIRING would have their Recruitment/Background process in check.

And don't start with.........."Hey, the Recruiters and Background Investigators have to work the road also!" Well what happened to multi-tasking? Isn't that a big part of this job?

    What a shame.......

there are really some disgusting people (1 particular lady comes to mind) who answer the phones in the BI room in Tallahassee.

I wonder why they elected to have those people man the phones when their attitude and responses reflect the Florida Highway Patrol.

Just a preview of things to come bro.....Take heed.

They do the same thing for promotions and transfers. Your whole life up in the air while you wait 4-6 weeks after you put in for promotional opportunity. Constantly wondering and stressing if its gonna be you or someone else. If you are going to have to move etc... It sucks and standby for a career full of the same.

It really is a shame... I'm just glad that my experience of Troopers on the road is nothing like the hiring BS you have to go thru...

Tell that to the trooper in the south end of Troop F who is under investigation for writing the governor. The department now has that trooper under investigation. Ultimate power corrupts, Czernis is very corrupt.

I doubt the Governor places too much merit on letters from ghost writers, unless a personal threat to him and the rest go in the garbage. Then again, if enough letters get send to your local newspapers a reporter can always refuse to give their source and it still gets the news out.
