They had been riding without headlights and let deputies search them. Officials found sunglasses, an iPod, cell phones and "Support the Troops" magnetic bumper stickers. Officials also say they found prescription drugs and marijuana.

Calvin J. White, 23, reportedly took off. A deputy, Jeremy Milner, tracked White down and wrestled him to the ground. White reportedly grabbed Milner's Taser and fired twice. Eventually, other deputies came to help.

Later, while being questioned by deputies, a 16-year-old boy who was with White reportedly admitted that he and White were behind a string of burglaries in north Sarasota County.

White was charged with eight car burglaries, fighting with a law enforcement officer and outstanding warrants.
