    The Time Is....

Everyone it is time to show the city that we want out from their leadership since they continue to fail us and the citizens of this city. We must all come together and show up for the meeting on Monday and the commission meeting on TUESDAY night and show them that we are tired of their antics. We all know that this city is going to destroy our department if we do not go due to the fact that they can not properly fund our salaries and the benefits we are rightfully owed. We all must get behind our Reps, our bargaining body (PBA) and each other and show up TUESDAY night and let the people running this city know That The Time Is Now for a change. May our prayers be answered and our futures secured, God Bless!

Could not agree more! Each and everyone of us that can be there should be there for the vote on tuesday. All A-Platoon, All C-Platoon and everyone with tuesday's off for B-Platoon should be there. Lets all show unity and wear GREEN shirts so there is no doubt what we want to happen. If you know residents in the city talk to them, talk to the public when we are working let them know this is the only responsible way to go.

    Pack the House

It's critical to pack the Commission chamber Tuesday night for the special meeting. I love the idea of wearing green shirts! But don't forget tomorrow's barganing session 9:30 at city hall in the conference room. It's real important that the city know we are watching. Don't worry about having to speak because thay won't take comments from the public anyhow. There have been only one or two people other than the reps and the city who have been at previous meetings and witnessed first hand the shenanigans. It's not set up for many people to be there, just a couple chairs around the room, but so what. We need officers and the public there 3 and 4 deep standing united for this merger.

    Great turnout this morning

Impressive turnout this morning at the bargaining session with PBA, Major Veccia and the city. The physical presence of so many officers has an undeniable influence. Major Veccia and the city were going to meet again later today to go over terms in the contract and word is that the Commission and staff will have another in the shade meeting before a special meeting is called Wednesday, or Thursday or Friday evening. Now Friday is August 1st and the Sheriff expects an answer by then so the meeting MUST be called for no later than Thursday, unless the Sheriff is inclined to wait some more. Whenever the meeting is called is the time to pull out all the stops and every swinging badge needs to be there. The meeting will probably be held at the Scottish Rites Masonic Temple Hall at 2000 N D Street because the Commission Chamber only holds 84 people and that's not even half of the public who want to be there to say GO GREEN NOW.

Most likely this meeting will be about finalizing the PBSO Contract. Under the Commission's Agenda for 8/4/08 meeting there are some materials that will be provided from the SO. Most likely it will be the finalized Contract to be executed by all parties.

So maybe there is no next time. Maybe its this time 10-66.

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

As mentioned previously, the City Commission has scheduled an emergency meeting at the Scottish Rite Masonic Temple on Monday, August 4, 2008 at 6:30 PM. It is of utmost importance that every PBA member, not working, be in attendance. It is also important that any citizen or business owner that you may be friendly with, also be in attendance. We need to show the Commission how important this decision is and to let them know the overwhelming support it has generated from the public. We have endured a long period of uncertainty as to what the future holds for our careers, but this is the final step. There has never been a time as this, that we need to stick together and show unity at this meeting. I wish you all the best!
