Tattoos in this department my first post , Im new hello !

    Hello guys,

I just past the assesment , I was wondering if this department allows anyone with Full sleeve Military tattoos

I just spoke with a police officer from MPD and he mentioned he has been granted a Grandfathered becuase he has been with MPD since 93 as he had some visible sleeve tattoos, So, Would I now be disqualified to continue my process with MDPD as I have full visible sleeve tattoos?

And if so can I state that I want to wear a long sleeve uniform?

Any info will help me guide what department is ok with visible tattoos so I can apply and allow any candidate have visible tattoos. :?

Also, if there are any laws , news , articles about this please send me some info. Thanks and looking forward to several responses

I don't think it would be the tattoo sleeve that would neccesarily disqualify you, Military Tattoo. Try and learn how to properly construct a complete sentence first, using correct punctuation and grammar, then you can ask about the department's tattoo policy. This way your question is understood and can be answered effectively by the many professional men and women of our great department who visit this site. To answer your next question which you have not already asked...yes, our department allows you to carry a pocket spellchecker.

On another note, congratulations on your successful assesment. I am well aware of how difficult it can be to "past" those things, especially when it comes to the really, really, really tough areas like sentences, periods and the alphabet.

Judging by your lack of attention to detail towards the English language in your postings, I am willing to bet you are the same person who asked about our department's hiring of latins in the forum. As a latin myself, I can tell you that you will not find a more diverse (that means Whites, Asians, African-Americans, "Jewish Americans"(?), East Indians, and EVEN Hispanics) police department in south Florida. Like the old saying goes, we are one big, happy familia!
Lastly, a word of friendly advice. You may want to consider some other wonderful departments to apply to as well, (Hialeah, Opa Locka, Mikosukee, El Portal, Lauderhill, Macy's Womens, etc) as they are always looking for qualified applicants such as yourself. Good luck to you and your future endevors, you will truly make a fine candidate elsewhere since only ONE Ocasio in the department is too many.

Here's my 2 cents........get your tats lasered off. That way it wont even be an issue to the dept you are looking to work for. Whats more important to you in life? Showing off your cool tattoos or having a career being a cop? This is law enforcement, you have to appear somewhat professional. And yeah, spelling and grammar are kind of important too, ya may want to try and brush up on that. Hialeah does hire people with visible tats.......there's a few ofc's there who even have tats on their necks. You may want to consider putting in an application over there.
    Good luck.

SBerg: you do look professional......nothing against you.

i dont see how having a little bit of a tattoo showing translates into the cop being "unprofessional".

professionalism with your peers and the public is the "whole package", ie. how you act, speak, interact with others, etc.

i agree that the tattoo should not be offensive as in deragotory to another race, culture, religion, etc/.

and it should not be completely covering your arms beyond maybe your elbows.

other than that, knock yourselves out.
