Thirdly the statements made about the Crime Prevention Bureau were not about the individuals but of the policy of the Sheriff's Office in using on-duty deputies at the various charitable events which are not Law Enforcement related.

I don't want this to turn into a crime prevention witch hunt.
According to Chuck, no on duty deputies should be used during fund raisers for disabled veterans because it is not law enforcement related.
Let Crime Prevention do whatever they want because it is obviously working ok.

I must admit that if this agency has gotten to the point that we are so short handed that detectives have to work a zone, training is canceled and calls are being held for long periods of time, then anything that is not law enforcement related should be looked at under the old microscope.......this even includes providing deputies with their time flexed to events like parades where seats are sold and people are making money. After all, one parade is a drunk fest in which these people drive to and from the event.....and isn't DUI prevention something Sheriff Gee prides this Office with?
