Off duty carry

I recently heard that your Chief won't sign the waiver for his guys to carry off duty, is this true? If so I can only assume that most of you have obtained CCW permits...If that is any indication of how you guys are treated, I feel bad for ya....

The Cheif has no say in the matter, he's just a puppet for the authority.

Why would he??? It's almost to the point where they won't even let airport cops take a dump at work without a supervisor there to call the shots and supervise the wipe, let alone authorize something like that!! :lol:

The chief can forbid you from carrying your issued firearm while off-duty, but he doesn't have to authority to prevent you from carrying your own gun. That's a matter of state (and federal) law.
