Something similar to a 401k is offered in addition to a pension, but you must pay for it on your own.
Top pay depends on what year you are hired.
The time it takes you to max-out pay depends on the year you were hired, along with who you might politically know. For example, Sheriff Wells was hired here (before he was elected) and he was promoted to lieutenant after X amount of time, whereas it takes regular un-connected people years to get promoted.
Does MCSO credit you for prior LE experience and start you off at a higher rate or does everyone start at step #1. Also, what is top pay base salary and what's the number of steps for someone who's not "politically connected"
