Ask the powers at be. We have a guy on leave going on three and a half years. A report that no one can read. Crime that’s up. A chief who doesn’t talk to his guys. A deputy chief who is patrol officer and the list goes on
We’re asking you. Why do you stay? How dysfunctional are you if you choose to remain at a place where you’re clearly miserable?
Economics, by the time you figured this place was a mess it was too late, other agencies have issues also, grass is not greener, if you gave a degree try to change careers
Economics? You’d make more money selling real estate part time. And a job doesn’t make you miserable. You have to choose that

Didn’t you see today’s picture? He posed next to Dr. Ben Carson as if he’s a twenty year officer. I cannot believe they got him to put on a uniform with pants. But the more I think about it, anything in front of a camera he will do for recognition.
The good news is that culture begins with leadership. Any organization has the potential to transform itself into a more positive and people-oriented workplace that prioritizes trust, as long as there is sufficient determination and willpower. However, achieving this requires making it a clear priority and consistently putting in the necessary effort day after day.
