View Full Version : Morgan Promises $35,000? Already done.

For those of you who think this is a big promise and a reason to vote for Morgan, it's already been done. Let's say David Morgan gets elected and takes office in January 2008.

A deputy sheriff will now make starting pay of $32,900. He will get a 3% raise in October putting that deputy at $33,887. In October 2008 he'll get another 3% putting that deputy at $34,903. So every deputy currently working at the SO will already be at (or $97 dollars away from) this wonderful $35,000 Morgan is promising 3 months before he could even take office. Now David Morgan, are you going to fix compression that would cost between 8-12 million dollars? That's going to be a little hard to do since you said in your last commercial that you wouldn't go to the county to ask for more money in your budget. You're also only focusing on deputies' pay. How are you going to justify millions of dollars in raises just to deputies when there are still many civilian employees making under $9.00 an hour? What are you going to do for them? More promises without plans...

He's looking better every day...

Poor David Morgan, he just can't catch a break.

He's getting blamed for wanting to help raise deputy pay and he may not have realised what the figures would project to by January 2009. He doesn't have access to Stevens' books and even if he did it would take 6 forensic accountants, 3 cryptologists, a German Enigma machine and a Hutu witch doctor to decipher the goddamn thing.

The point isn't that Morgan know every cent available to give essential employees the exact rate of their pay increase two years out but that he identifies the need. Mcnesby has the freakin' money and Stevens witch doctored books and he can't even tell you what percentage essential employees are getting!

There will be plenty of money available for raises once all the contract employees and useless directors are gone.

Mcnesby's staff takes up a ridiculous percentage of the salary budget. Don't take my word for it though. Wait until the staff pay increases are published and look what their percentage is. You won't see many 5 percenters anywhere in that group. Although 5% at 100k is still better than 5% at 30k.

Morgan is for the rank and file and not the good old boys.

The point is Morgan is throwing out promises with no idea how to keep them.

I beg to differ. He knows just how to do it. First he has an MBA in Business not a possible GED like McNesby. Sheriff Morgan will get the right people on the bus, the wrong people off the bus and the right people in the right seats. Then he'll figure out where to drive the bus. But you can be sure that the people getting off the bus will be creating a vast pool of new cash to send the way of the rank and file deputies. When the transition is complete there will be a much less crowded bus as well. Far less chiefs and more indians. Makes for a smarter manned, better paid & more efficient police agency. He has already stated clearly how he will do it on his website http://www.votedavidmorgan.com in his suggestion box. Easy to say that he has no ideas but the brutal facts for McNesby are that Morgan is the ONLY ONE WITH PLANS.

Here is what Morgan's pay plan is based on:

There will be plenty of money available for raises once all the contract employees and useless directors are gone.

O.K. How many are there that will be gone and how many salary dollars will that equal. Now take that money and tell us how much we would get. That would be a plan. He's got an MBA. If he wants support he should put out a list of people who he'd get rid of, how much that would save, and where that money would go. He won't ever do that. See Morgan likes to skimp on the details, but that's where the Devil lies.

For Morgan disliking McNesby so much he sure is following in his footsteps. Here were McNesby's campaign platform points.

Get rid of upper administration.

Give $5000 pay raise to all deputies.

Clean up Brownsville.

Get rid of the street crimes unit where lots of allegations of wrongdoing were coming from.

Hmmmmm. Now what is Morgan promising?

Get rid of upper administration. (Whose gonna be your Chief Deputy by the way?)

Starting pay of $35000 (which all current deputies will already be making)

Clean up Garnett and Green (of course Morgan says ECSO surrendered it. Apparently he hasn't read a book on the futility of the drug war and how there will always be places to buy drugs at.)

Get rid of corrupt deputies. (although I'm quite sure his campaign manager's son will end up working at the ECSO should Morgan get in. Is he the only relative that screwed up that will get his job back or is there someone even closer?)

I suggest going to Morgan's site to see the backpedaling already begin.

Wake up people! There will never be another sheriff like Ronniemac. (Sure the pay may suck unless you are one of his butt-kissers.) But it's easy to get along in the ESO under his kingdom. Don't have to worry about rules or laws applying to you. Just put it to the public anyway you want and write it up the way that you like. When elections come around you can just let the people know that fighting crime is useless and they should just put up with hopelessness and like it. Doesn't really matter if anyone believes that failure is guaranteed because you have a secret weapon at the ESO. The public is afraid of you and that should shut them up pretty good. Sex on duty is a way of life, if you want it to be, so it's quite an orgy in progress. If you get caught with the wrong person don't worry. You'll get transfered to some other easy duty. Isn't that why you wanted to be the police? To disrespect your oath, yourself and the public? If not get lost. Like so many other's have. Just remember that nothing can be done about the problems so don't worry -be happy.

Solutions to problems are not to be avoided. To the complainers about people with vision, be glad you are tolerated at present. But that is coming to an end when Morgan gets in. Do you have any idea how stupid your arguments sound? What failures your lives have become? If you had these attitudes in the private sector you would be fired so fast you'd get whiplash. What is hopeless is backing an uneducated thug because you are an uneducated thug. The Morgan campaign is gaining traction and all you can do is convince us that McNesby has no answers for fighting crime so we should give up.

Ronniemac is sounding better every day!

Morgan didnt make this raise happen... the BOCC was going to do this anyways for all the other, non-law enforcement positions, and they couldnt very well do for some an not for others, could they.

But on a related note, if you take away the 3% we have to pay to FRS, our starting pay is NOT over $35k. Either way you are both mathmatically wrong and morally misguided.
