Would it be possible to have this fund as an elected benefit? Those who dont want it dont put in and the city doesn't put in.

This way the nay-sayers can keep their 1% and us intelligent people can get this benefit.

If this contract passes because lying PBA members try to CONVINCE that the contract is good. I think that that will say it all to me. How many STUPID SELFISH IDIOTS work here at TPD to give up a good benefit introduced, without a fight. Health Care will affect us ALL....wake up and get the Subsidiary now. This " Your about to retire and your going to get something Now "........sounds stupid and selfish. NOTE: You'll get your Benefit.....so what is your point.

There's no guarantee anyone will receive this sham annuity benefit in the future. Each year there will be more officers changing from contributing member to receiving member. What do you think the problem with Social Security is now. Less people are contributing and more (too many) people are living longer and collecting longer. The only selfish people are those who want the benefit and not contribute a dime. The only stupid people are those who are convinced everything will be great. Who has certified this plan? Ahh no one except a few cops who came up with it in a few weeks and then after some resistance decided to cut the benefit in half. God love em for trying. Can't blame a guy for trying to get free money. Really the only thing this little annuity scam has done is turn some hard line NO votes into YES votes.

This plan will work and has worked for many years up north and is being finally introduced into Florida. Your selfish attitude will only back track this dept further. This plan will be managed by" US "not the government like Social Security. You are soooooooooo misinformed..." A few cops that came up with this plan in a few weeks ".....that's not true. Keep your negativity and your selfish attitude and this dept will never achieve anything. Your just one in the lower majority who thinks for himself. The contract will FAIL.

The city cannot force anyone to take the annuity benefit. If we get the benefit, people can opt out of it if they want to just like with any other change in the pension.

Now, if a lot of the younger, newer guys opted out of the annuity plan, that could cause major problems in the future with the plan's financial solvency.

Stand on the sidelines....and when you can't be excepted...don't whine when everyone is getting the benefit. Go do your crying somewhere else...Mr. Negative.
