Its pretty bad - Maryland is the 4th most violent state in the country. Stay away if at all possible!

Thats a lie, you can walk anywhere in the city and not have a problem as long as u mind your business.

Haha, most of Baltimore is a war zone. No one would want raise a family in the city. Unless you make at least 6 figs and send your kids to private school you would be better served living in the county.

I'm a retired PO from South Florida also and I agree with the advice above. Why should you take 100% of the risks with 0 support. Actually its worse than 0 support as the powers that be are out to get you. Every cop knows you cant save people from themselves. Only someone who has worked the type of area you are in could ever truly understand what you are up against. My counterpart said "allow nature to take its course" - very wise and diplomatic advice. Take care - the rest of the country is with you.
