I heard in the eab meeting that we were going to do away with the k-9 units whats everyones thoughts on that? Could we rely on out side agencies to provide us with a k-9 if we really needed it? :?:

Would it surprise you? We do not have a Crime Scene Unit anymore. If we eliminate K9, we would be going backwards. Whats next, Motor Units?
We could request K9 from HCSO, but how long will the response time be?
Oh well, just sit back and let the "Command Staff" do what they want, as usual, you do not have any input or say in it.

Command Staff, did Albano come back? Who else can make a logical decision. When will you people learn, its what is good for "HIM" now. We could actually survive without motors, and K-9's and maybe fill a zone in the meantime.

why not fill a zone with a k-9 can they not multi task if they were in a zone... could we not use them in another zone we all have to go to other zones all the time.

No we are not doing away with k9. It will be nice to get it back up to 4 officers, no, 4 motivated officers to bring it back to a higher level. Yea, lets put them in a zone. Have them get assigned burglary calls, baker act calls, ect. Then what are you going to do when you need one to do a vehicle search on a traffic stop? Can hold the vehicle there until they finish with a victim that deserves good service. Have them stuck on a call when a building needs to be searched. Your zone partner goes in and gets shot because the the k9 officer is to busy.

Yes there needs to be more help from the k9 crew and YES, you need to be much more smarter and see the purpose behind the canine teams.

Survive without the motor unit? You could, but we hear enough crying when they get a day off.

people only cry when motors are off because they help with call load..ie crashes. Also, Those postitions were once zone cars, so when they are off, we are really short.
