View Full Version : The contract is going to get voted in
because there is no unity at T.P.D. We don't look out for each other.
1- Lt.'s are going to vote yes because nothing in the contract affects them (i.e. promotion process, m.p.o./senior sgt/cpl. pay, etc.).
2- Brain washed/ignorant rookies because some items in the contract don't affect them now, so why not take the money.
3- F.T.O.'s and other specialty groups that are going to get an increase, especially those who will get a shift premium also.
If so, that should still be less than 50%. Stay the Course, Vote NO>
this contract will get voted in because there is unity in this department and we do look out for each other.
When you vote for something because its good for you but bad for others, that is not looking out for each other, that is not unity.
VOTE NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lt's have their own contract. They don't vote on our contract.

Between the 3 FTO squads, roughly 85% are voting no.
The poster stated that 85% of the F.T.O's were voting no. How many F.T.O's on the department and would their no vote have any effect on the overall vote total?
Question for the No voters? The contract proposal gets voted down. What percentage of a pay proposal increase would you accept before we got to impasse? Do you really believe the City Council members would support a 6%6%6%?
Scenario: We go to impasse because the city believes we are unrealistic on the proposals.
Next summer we are still at impasse and the city is damaged by a hurricane. City has to spend significate money to rebuild. City sends us all commendation letters for doing our duty. Any ideas as to what our raise proposal would be?
