After Bureau or IA investigations or employee reviews

Then-

Lying: Fired immediately
Criminal activity: Fired immediately
Chronic continuous abuse of SOP/GO: Fired immediately
Failure to pass the FTO phase: Fired immediately (employee reviewed)

Now-

Lying: days off, EAP, zone district transfer
Criminal activity: days off, EAP, zone district transfer
Chronic continuous abuse of SOP/GO: days off, EAP, zone district transfer
Failure to pass the FTO phase: extended, extended, extended

Personally, I liked the "then" days better. You knew where both you and the admin stood on such matters as indicated above. There were no discrepancies on what would happen if you screwed up. It was a system that kept checks and balances in place to insure all were treated "equally" in punishment.

I cannot remember when any disciplined employee recently has been treated somewhat similar in discipline. The modes and ways have really been laxed and preferential treatment given to those in favor. Discipline is given out in so many various forms that no two people who commit the same offense are given the same disciplinary actions.

What a shame, no wonder why some officers just keep getting in trouble. Why better yourself when there is no formal discipline or threat of losing your career?
