Try it and see what happens.

The real answer is that the codes for making the type bold, or colored, or a different size, and accessing URL sites and Image sites, etc. DON'T WORK if you disable BBCode.

That's why, at the beginning of this message you see the codes for quoting your message instead of actually seeing the word "Quote" and putting your previous message in a quotation box.

In the same way, if you disable smilies you won't see the Emoticoms (the faces in the box on the left side of the message box when you are preparing a message. You will see the symbols that usually make the Emoticoms appear. Like :wink: instead of seeing the winking smilie.
