I am selling my house for 300K
low ball says 135k ( 45% of asking price) not realistic offer
I counter at 225k (75% of 300K) not realistic counter
low ball says 150K (50% of 300K) wrong
my wife says we'll settle for 225k i 73 her with good reason

union proposes 20% raise
city counters with a 9% raise 45% of our proposal
union counters with 15% raise 75% or our proposal
city punks us back with 10% raise 50% of our proposal
many weak and scared union members
begin to post that 15% is acceptable. 75% of our proposal

please be aware that you lost money the last two years on your 5-3-3 contract. oh yea, where's the 3.5% multiplier. i warned you guys but you wouldn't listen.

a 9-5-5 proposal by the city would actually be like of 5-5-5. have to make up for the lost spending power of last two years. and yes you have 3.15 multiplier and you paid 12% and 11% during those two 3-3 years.

Is the membership united and strong or weak and scared.
retroactive pay is a given during contract negotiations.
Hold together and vote this garbage down.

I'm sure Durkin will have great news tomorrow that the city has given in and agreed to a 5-5-5, 5-5-4, 5-4-4 etc. Too many of you will think it's great and be relieved. Unfortunately the city wins with these numbers.

In closing, please remember that the negoiating team( city staff) we receive bonuses for saving the city millions of dollars that we deserve.

Stay strong. Vote NO!
