You could not be further from the truth..... COMP time for all is what you should say.

I don't know where you work but at BPD we get Overtime cash money when we work over especially for storms since FEMA re-imburses the City. Also in PBA Contract.

Losing even More steam!!

08-28-2006, 01:46 PM
Yes, when a storm is over water it loses power, but when it its the warm waters over the gulf, it will pick up some speed and the low pressure will allow it to pick up speed, and it should be a cat2 by the time it hits Fla's coast.

08-28-2006, 03:16 PM
Ok Paul Delagato. Stop hitting the crack pipe and watch the actual weather instead of predicting it. The weather says it may not even be a a Hurricane when it hit's FLA. Most likely a tropical storm only.

08-28-2006, 04:13 PM
Even if it's a rain cloud we'll still be called in.

08-28-2006, 07:05 PM
Funny, the news said that it should be a cat 2 when it nails florida

08-28-2006, 09:51 PM
I dont know what out of State Weather forecast you are subscribing to??? Are you sure you arent watching tapes of last years storms?? Their is no talk of a Cat 2 anywhere!!

08-29-2006, 04:48 PM
Has anyone started getting called yet?

08-29-2006, 06:49 PM
Ummmm no, why would we its a weak Tropical Storm! The usual afternoon storms we get are stronger than this little rain cloud.

08-29-2006, 07:21 PM
The call was made and all rdo's and time off revoked. All of day shift must report to work at 0630 hrs on wed.

08-30-2006, 02:17 AM
Thanks for calling us in on our day off because of some possible 25mph wind gusts and 1 to 3 inches of rain...Wake Up Admin.!! The only good thing is the easy O.T. money, for just hanging out with a zone partner because we won't have enough cars for everyone!!!

08-30-2006, 03:54 AM
Dont you guy's have take home car's?? I thought you were a union agency??

08-30-2006, 11:00 AM
It is called Public safety. It is what we do. Being prepared is part of it. If you want a take home car, move to the City, stay out of trouble - read the Take Home Car Special Order. If you don't want to double up during situations like this, stop driving cruisers through high water and blowing engines. Maybe you should seek a career change like working at McDougal's flipping burgers. Hey you wouldn't have to worry about take home cars or being called in for Public Safety matters, only in the event of a burger crisis. Sounds like a safe bet for your mindset!

08-30-2006, 12:33 PM
Come on over to us, you will get the car as well as some respect. Look forward to seeing you.

Why is MCSO now getting into the mix of BPD bashing. I thought that was the job of all of the cry baby's who work for BPD. Listen up county boy's, We do our own moaning and groaning without any help from the peanut gallary.

08-30-2006, 09:19 PM
Because it's our County and we can :o

08-30-2006, 10:30 PM
I once again want to say thanks to admin for allowing me to get that easy o.t. today, I dont think the wipers had to be on once today. We did alot of close patrols, and that was about it because no one wanted to be there. This is why the c.o.b. is crying poor because of poor decisionmakers. Think next time before you call us in from our RDOs!

08-31-2006, 03:15 AM
McDougals? was that a coming to america reference?

08-31-2006, 08:01 PM
Don't you think the the Department did the right thing by us and the Public. They did not put us on 12 hour days and just made anyone on daywork RDO work. If we got rain and got flooded we would be that old un professional BPD who did not prepare. So I guess no matter what they did they were wrong.
And to think they paid us OT to do our job for a few hours extra and if you did not want to stay you could have left at 12.
I for one am glad it was done.
Your complaint is silly.

08-31-2006, 08:05 PM
Hey cars are money-----the Dept I am sure will buy you a car if you don't get a raise. And MSO can no longer throw rocks--lock at how they are doing--crime up and we have a double diget decrease better response time etc....right MSO "because you can" Work wise you now are chasing us but we chase you in pay--go figure.
