Two deputies arrested
In Sarasota, sheriff's Detectives Al Ainscoe and Ed Falcone resigned under criminal allegations. Detective Ainscoe, 45, worked with students as a school resource officer and Detective Falcone, 36, worked in undercover narcotics. The 10-year employees did not give a reason for their abrupt resignations, Sarasota Sheriff Bill Balkwill said. The sheriffs of both counties would not comment on the ongoing FBI investigation. The article indicated that it is an ongoing FBI investigation. What's next? If there is complete public disclosure, then it could make all of us look really really bad.

No one knows anything solid yet so quit guessing. They were great law enforcement officers and are innocent until proven guilty. Both of them have backed me up for the last 7-8 years and were always there when i needed them! That is the way i am going to remember them! If they did something so severely wrong, then they will be found guilty and have to pay for it. Until then, please dont talk bad about either of them!

Follow-up Story:
On Tuesday, two Manatee deputies were arrested on charges of dealing in stolen property; two Sarasota detectives resigned the same day. Both of the Sarasota detectives are suspects in the organized crime case, Manatee Sheriff Charlie Wells said. Federal authorities are still working on the organized crime aspect of the case.

The Sarasota detetectives, Al Ainscoe and Ed Falcone, were hired by the Sarasota Sheriff's Office in 1996.

Falcone was named deputy of the year in 2002 and became a detective that same year. Ainscoe became a school resource officer at Booker High.

Ainscoe's personnel file details several disciplinary cases against him. In March 2001, Ainscoe was reprimanded for kissing a motorist during a traffic stop.Click here (http://www.heraldtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060728/NEWS/607280371/1270/NEWS0101) for the full story.
