As with any agency, contact the personnel section and they will tell you what the minimum requirements are for employment.

Don't limit yourself to only one or two agencies in your search. Make a number of calls and see what's available and what works best for you. You will find that just about every agency has the basic minimum standards. If you speak a second language that would be in your favor. Look at each departments entire benefits packages and not just any monies that are up front.

Some of the larger agencies have more room for different assignments and some of the smaller agencies don't. Stay away from ANY police agency that makes promises for future assignments even if they put it in writing. This isn't the Army.
