I am currently in the scholarship process and have a couple of general questions. First, once a background packet is turned in how long does it take to get an interview on average? Also, if I haven't heard anything in a few months how can I find out where I am in the selection process? I appreciate any help you may be able to offer. Thank you.

You should know who your background investigator is by now. Call them and just ask where you are in the process. There is generally a period of time where there isn't a need to contact you. I'm not sure by your post where you're at in the process. Did you just do the application, written test and Pat? Or were you sent the 40 page packet already? Personnel's main number is 276-3429.

Thank you for your response. I have already turned in the background packet and my BI keeps saying he's about to get to it and he'll call me very soon. I call usually once a month, but I keep hearing the same thing. I understand you guys have a large workload, I just want to know how long I should wait to call my BI. I don't want to be a pain in the a$$; I am just vey eager to work for TPD. Thank you.

Call him every couple of weeks. That is reasonable. Since you have email you can reach him there as well.
